Holyoke Man Sentenced for Distributing Crack Cocaine, Reports U.S. Attorney

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- A Holyoke man was sentenced
today in federal court for distributing crack cocaine on three occasions
between March 4, 1999 and April 1, 1999.
United States Attorney Donald K. Stern and John E. Gartland, Special Agent
in Charge of the New England Field Office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement
Administration, announced that ADALBERTO PEREZ, age 30 of Holyoke,
Massachusetts, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for distributing 5
ounces of crack cocaine on three occasions between March 4, 1999 and April 1,
1999 to an undercover agent. PEREZ was also ordered to pay a $400 special
assessment.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and
the DEA's Springfield Drug Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant
U.S. Attorney Todd E. Newhouse in Stern's Springfield Office.
