Leigh and all - well, I did a little investigating using my ISDN hookup (which has not gotten much use since I went DSL). Using MSN, which allows me to connect anywhere, I tried a variety of Houston ISPs. The connection to DELL was impossibly slow from all of them. I tried a Dallas number - fast response, no problems. Likewise (natch) Austin numbers work fine. Oh well...
