Re: In fact, unless the news is mind-bogglingly good we could well see a dip on Monday. Efficient market theory, sell on the news, whatever.

Gopher & Kash,

If you have the guts, hold out until Monday morning and sell right at the open. If the news is good we should gap up on the open even if we finish down on the day. I've seen this pattern before, and even played it right a few times.

3 I can think of off the top of my head:

IBM Q4 earnings (I made big money off of a short term options play buying a few days before and selling at the open, got the high sell of the day)

AMD Q4 earnings

AMD Q1 earnings

good luck,

chic

Re: "I have as many June options as I am comfortable with at present. I may buy a few more June calls early and sell before the close rather than holding over the weekend."

Comment:I'm hanging onto my June 80's until a new high ($93 or better) is established next week...No point trying to play the swings before a new high is established next week!
The biggest decision next week when $93 is achieved is whether or not to hold the June 80's 'til $100 is (successfully?) tested!
