there are two or three small files in the recommended updates that say something about needing these files in case you ever want to reinstall utilities, or something like that (sorry, memory recall). these files are useless as can be (per symantec techs) and should be avoided, if for no other reason than to save time. however, i think there was another reason, but that darn memory recall isn't kicking in again like it should. i think you'll recognize them, and then just shine them on
