Yes, a company should be punished for paying down AP but even more so for increasing AR.
An increase in AR means that its relative negotiation strength with respect to its customer has decreased. This is often and indication of channel/inventory stuffing or and eminent decrease in demand. This is why this number is quite closely followed by most analysts. However, and increase in AR could also be an anomaly so it helps to look at longer term trends too.

I'm a little less inclined than Spekulatius to punish AP decreases, but definitely agree on AR, especially when the customers are huge. Either way, I try to keep all these factors in mind as a whole when I look at a balance sheet or a cash flow statement. Sometimes I succeed.-g-

I'm not very familiar with BDG. Looks good on the surface, but is anyone still buying retreads? (I used to years ago.) GT was on my to do list earlier this year but I never got around to buying any.

I've been unloading some longs lately, since I don't like this market, notably LUFK, ORI & UFAB (but I'll buy them back if the price is right). In the value area, I still own DII, FIT, LUB, FGH, PETD (sold half), ANF, BOYD, PBY (worst performer thus far-cost is ~9), OICO,and a little CAV (just in case they don't go belly up). I'm not particularly attached to any of these; I like to sell calls on the optionable issues. These are all in the IRA so STCG taxes don't matter.
