DSL isn't bad. The problem for this board is that it's tough to justify a Gorilla or King role in the sector. Two hurdles have to be overcome: (1) The telcos have been very strict in enforcing interoperability. That means the likelihood of IPR's or other barriers to entry being important are slim, and (2) There aren't any likely Kings--No one has more than a small share of the equipment market.

The conclusion is that there there are likely good investments in DSL, but they don't satisfy the primary screen of this board--they can't qualify as candidates to be Gorillas or Kings.
