Rather than go thru the expense of terraforming the Sahara, the Outback etc, wouldn't it be cheaper just to save the rainforests we already have?

If it could be done, I would be all for it. The problem is that the people who live in those parts of the world want to eat, and they happen to be very inefficient, compared to farmers in USA and Europe. And the US has no influence in those countries, except maybe in Brasil.

How do you suggest we stop the people from cutting down the rainforests?
