ted, I think there will be no problem at the peak speeds, as you say 50,000 is small, however if the sale curve does not match the production curve at all point you will have excesses and shortages of some speeds. It makes sense to move any excess high speed parts to fill a gap at a lower speed. The potential sales volume get larger as the speed falls but the production volume will tail off at the high end as well as the low end so there will always be a need to do some of this downmarking, esp as they tune the process and get the average speed higher and higher.
