Hi OJ:

the perception is we are slowing...

I am wondering when people will start to realize that a slowing-down economy combined with increasing (runaway?) inflation it the worst thing that could possibly happen to the stock market. This week-end after digesting the employment report? Probably won't matter much today.

there's an enormous amount of cash on the sidelines....

I think that this is another big myth propagated by WS spinmeisters. Where should all that money come from? Most of the liquidity flows into the market early in the year and has done so, but hardly any has come out again afterwards (there has been no serious selling so far in the overall market). Plus many people (at least the ones I know) are perfectly happy with having their money in risk-free money market accounts paying 6 % + and can wait until the fall when the dust has settled.

Good trading to all,

Phil

Disclosure: I went long last Friday, but started selling Wednesday and am now 2/3s short, 1/3 long.
