Dell is a perfect example of a change in fundamentals to a once core holding. First, there's the 1999 slowdown in corporate spending on boxes due to diversion of budgets to Y2K preparation. Then there's the earthquake in Taiwan and the subsequent components shortage. Last fall there was some thinking that in 2000, with Windows 2K release and the end of Y2K spending, Dell would benefit but, as it turns out, Windows 2K is a non-event and there's some belief that the whole Microsoft issue is holding back corporate spending on PCs. Bottom line: Dell's fundamentals have changed.

Guess those OEX puts I bought earlier this week are gonna make nice wallpaper <g>.
