So nice you posted Blue's reminder here, Peach.
Was just thinking how it's the same as so much in life; a self-exam for breast (and other) cancer can catch a bad trend early enough so that correction of the situation is more possible.
breastcancerinfo.com is one example of what wealth of life-saving information can be found when entering "breast cancer" into any search engine.
And raceforthecure.com is an inspiration: it shows profiteers and investors aren't the only source of the necessary means of funding the continuing search for a cure.
There've been amazing advances in medical science/radio-pharmacology lately coming from some biotechnical microcosmic discoveries nothing short of incredible. So hopefully The Cure is closer than we think.
And though prevention only becomes possible when cause of a condition has become certain, the following links may be of interest regarding maintenance of the taken-for-granted everyday health, strength, functionality of well-being that usually no one born with it truly realizes is the greatest gift of all - until it's threatened.
When all's been tried and nothing else works, sometimes it's some simple old-fashioned thing found by serendipity that does the job.
Just because A Miracle may not manifest as a beam from a cloud or from touching a statue that cries or as an exorcism or deific vision or by immersion of the afflicted in holy water.... doesn't make it not A Miracle.
Haven't we all already gone through plenty - strep is one example of what would have most likely done us in had we lived just a few generations in the past instead of now.
We've come a long way..... and got a long way to go.
