Sorry, but saw it done near 3 weeks ago here in Denver. Guess it was a very nice dinner & drinks in an upscale place. The manager pulled out the balance from behind the counter, put on a weight, weighed out the tiny nuggets & dust, and gave the guy a $20 in change. No, the place wouldn't let the regular checker take the "payment", the manager had to do it, but he made no big deal of it, as though transactions in gold are not all that rare.
