Canada officials try to lure Microsoft north - BBC

NEW YORK, June 2 (Reuters) - Canadian officials have approached embattled software
goliath Microsoft Corp. (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) about possibly moving its operations to
Canada, according to a British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) online report.

Authorities in British Columbia have offered to do a deal with Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft, which faces the possibility
of being broken into two or more separate companies as a result of the U.S. government's antitrust case against it, the BBC
reported.

Officials have offered the company favourable treatment, which may include a loan to build a new headquarters if the company
agrees to move its operations north to the other side of the border, the BBC reported.

In a statement released to the BBC, the man in charge of attracting investment to British Columbia, Gordon Wilson, said
Microsoft would be what he called ``a welcome asset.''

The BBC reported that the company denied that it has been in secret discussions with Canadian authorities about a relocation,
saying it is focusing on fighting any plans for a break-up through the courts.

Microsoft shares were up 1-3/8 at 65-15/16 in early trading on Nasdaq.

Factory orders are down as more is produced overseas. A shrinking trade deficit with lower factory orders will signal recession but we are far from that.

It is amazing how little insight people have that they just want an excuse to buy for the sake of buying.

Dollar is down 1.60 and I think the trend is reversing for the Euro, lucky I am flush with DM's

Oil and CRB are up!!
