<The Chestnut Hill area in Brookline, perhaps the best location in the Boston region, has 3000 sq. ft. houses going for $600k. And that is very, very much to the high end.>

Well, how much has that appreciated in the past 2 years??

And by the way, what % of the families in the U.S. can affort a 250K house?? Not that I'm worried about house prices, U.S. is still the most affordable place for housing of the population IMO.

<<$250k gets you a decent house in Burlington, close to Route 128/Boston hi-tech area. That is kind of the average.>>

You have a "Decent" house to sell in Burlington? I have friends who are looking to buy. They started off with that kind of budget and now they are looking at 600k houses - still didn't find a decent one for their standards.

Me thinks that you know jack shit about housing and spit you opinions and perceptions at us claim that garbage to be your "proof!"

BTW, thanks for declaring that "Grenspam has pulled a soft landing." If landing on a pile of shit is considered as soft landing then I agree with you. (I would imagine that would literally be a soft landing)
