It's so funny that others think buy and hold is so stupid. I really feel sorry for them. You know why? Because my dad is one of those folks who can't keep his paws off his money for one day. So he's in and out constantly. And he's down about 50% in the last 2 years of trading. Whereas, I am up considerably with little to no taxes being paid to the gov't. Sometimes I just want to beat my dad over the head with a good book on buy and hold until somehow through osmosis and cranial trauma, he learns that daytrading and shorting is a great long term strategy for nothing more than destitution. Ah well!

Ken, Me to. I believe in the future of the USA as leader of the world economy. If I had sold out it certainly wouldnt have been at top and then the question When to buy back? Most folks wind up getting back in at considerably higher levels. I know, I have done that once, but never again. Market timing does not work in general and certainly not for individual stocks
