What in the heck is wrong with this dude.

Nothing.

The stock was 45 last week and there is some profit taking. There are still probably people who wanted out at 50 and still want out.

This thread is not inhabited by many people who will complain about one hour's action. If you want a thread like that, take a look at Yahoo.

<ii>Does SNDK get a royalty payment for every Flashmemory sold.
Not yet *all* but much of it (CF cards not embedded flash). And more to come when (?if) Sandisk wins the court case against Lexar-if Lexar has enough money to keep going until September. If I was Sandisk I'd spin them out and make them burn even more money. Then they may have to settle anyway.

Also, isn't some flash memory really fast and some of it is really slow. Don't you need the fast kind for most of the digital cameras.

This comes from Lexar advertising, where they say they are 8x and so on. As far as I can see, this is irrelevant, for two reasons;
1) The 8x refers to the original spec for flash cards, not what others are shipping today
2) Camera architecture seems to be the main determinant, not flash speed. For example, many newer cameras have embedded memory that can store several pictures,a nd then download to flash in background. THus making speed irrelevant.

Finally, I have some Lexar memory (sorry, was all you could buy here in the UK 18 months ago <g>). There is no discernable difference in camera cycle time between that and my Sandisk memory.
