This seems to be good news for EMC and bad news for SUN. Now if the sales dept. will give Amazon the pitch for EMC storage... Ann Livermore, president of HP's enterprise and commercial business, said the company would fill the first orders for Amazon as soon as this week. HP will supply all types of computers, except for certain storage products, during the next 18 months. As part of the deal, Livermore said, Amazon will move from both Sun Microsystems Inc. SUNW and Compaq Computer Corp. CPQ computers to HP systems, including desktop computers for employees and networks of powerful computers, or servers, to run Amazon's Web site.
