Stereotype isn't the same as hand set type. It's from something like a monotype machine. Hand set type aka letterpress type aka foundry type hasn't been made in the U.S. for at least ten years, American Type Foundry (ATF) was the last one.

I have Justin on the phone, he's looking it up in a book he has called "Type," but he's lecturing me on Caslon.
