Heinz: I've never had any interest in gold until this last two years. The motivation for my fast-rising interest in gold is a strong survival instinct. A world papered in treasuries AND greenbacks, a parabolic rise in consumer and corporate debt, a stock market bubble and a rocketing trade deficit tend to conjure up "Wiemar Republic" scenarios at this end.
