Short squeeze is certainly possible with GTW. Short sellers have generally preferred GTW when shorting boxmakers, and the short sellers are fleeing en masse today.

hdl,
Hi!!
RE: perhaps ibm or hwp is buying gtw

Whether or not GTW is a possible acquisition for anyone DELL remains the company that IMO corporate America is continuing to seek out for future service, knowledge and hardware....Had a discussion with someone yesterday who pointed out that in their opinion one of the most bullish announcements had just been posted this week by DELL...I questioned which one? His response was:
dell.com

He then went on to explain that with DELL gaining market share in the workstation area that this was a very good sign that they are stealing market share in servers away from perhaps SUNW...
:O)
DELL shows any signs in the future of cracking SUNW's dominance all the Alan Abelson brain dead comments won't hold this stock back...

Now, if we couple that workstation announcement with the comments of Michael from the Q1 earnings I believe we have a match....
Sure it's coming from the same company...but, it was the corporate heads of various companies that told me last June that "you can't afford not to do business with DELL" if they get the servers and storage that will be required for the upgrades...
18 months or more ago ZDNET ran that article on: "EXPOSING THE SERVER RIP-OFFS OF THE PAST"...Should Michael's prediction come true I believe Patricks' bullish earnings prediction for 2000 and 2001 will be low...DELL will be growing at over 40% ....

dell.com

"The fundamental competitive advantages of our customer-focused direct business model are widening," said Michael S. Dell, chairman of the board and chief executive officer. "That's particularly true in the server and storage products at the heart of the Internet infrastructure."

It really boils down to who do you listen to? And, who do you believe? Believe Alan Abelson? (track record speaks for itself) or listen to Michael Dell when he uses the word "WIDENING"....

Best, Kemble
