Jim, <I reiterate my statement of last December. No real volume on the Willy until 2001. Maybe it gets a further delay as Intel scrambles to get a DDR chipset for it.>

More importantly, this allow more time for my two favorite cars, the Mustang & Corvette to pick up where T-Bird leaves off. These next few years could be amazing for AMD. Are they looking into more fab space, or can Dresden expand enough to truly rival Intel?

Dave

The chip hasn't even been released yet and already Intel has "demand" problems!

Jim,

Wasn't the first Pii, .35u version somewhere around 200 mm^2? I think under normal circumstances, Intel would be just fine. What is different this time is that Intel needs Willy just to stay in the game.

If you are right and Willy is delayed until 2001, AMD's earnings in Q3 and Q4 will be out of this world. My prediction for ASPs is:
Q2: $100
Q3: $130
Q4: $150
And all this on increasing volume of chips in Q3 and Q4.

I hope AMD is accelerating the ramp up of Dresden. AMD has enough cash on hand and enough cash in the pipeline to be more aggressive with purchasing and installing new equipment.

Joe

PS: Is AMD going to put up some cash for the new FASL fab?
