Sometimes intention matters when you're invested in clearly expressing a thought--it's nice to have that appreciated (if only in a general sense). It's also interesting to hear reactions that address the gestalt of your creation, and highlight ideas you weren't focusing on. It's difficult (if not nearly impossible) to assess the gestalt of your own work. I can see the front of my body, but I can't see my back, and I certainly can't walk around myself. Others can.
