Lehman: Valuations On Semiconductor Equipment Cos. 'Very Reasonable'
(NewsTraders.com)-- Lehman Brothers analyst Edward White stated his view that valuations for semiconductor equipment companies look "very reasonable" right now, and suggested several such companies for interested investors, including "buy"-rated Applied Materials (AMAT).
White also highlighted Asyst Technologies (ASYT), Cymer (CYMI), KLA-Tencor (KLAC), PRI Automation (PRIA), Teradyne (TER) and Thermawave (TWAV) as good picks in the sector; he currently has them all rated at "buy."

Those companies are the ones that White believes are best positioned to take market share and post significantly higher earnings over the next year.

The analyst foresees a continuing upward trend in orders for semiconductor equipment firms, although he admits it may come at a slower rate; the question is not whether demand will remain strong but whether companies can keep up with robust demand, he said.

White believes that leading semiconductor companies are prepared to meet that challenge, and sees "revenue growth continuing at a healthy pace throughout the summer, driving even faster earnings growth via positive operating leverage."
