I locked in a profit today!
I'm proud of myself.
Bought SNDK at 65 1/2 yesterday: it's a fine company but I decided that I need to make some money and would sell it at a $10 profit. It was 79 as soon as the market opened today: I hesitated a minute (if you look at the chart, 70 was breakout and it could go much higher) and then put in a sell order for half at 79 and then a stop loss order for the other half at 78. I know that wasn't giving it much leeway, but I wasn't interested in leeway.
Both orders executed and I made 12.50 or 13.50 a share.
The old me would have not been sold because I would have thought "It has so far to go" and it probably does but not right now (I don't think) and anyway that wasn't the point.
