I love Charlotte Church- you are right, she is fantastic. It will be a treat to watch her grow.

I think I first heard ANdean music when the Flight of the Condor was on PBS, and I was captivated.

And Gabriel, and Monk and Davis, I've heard and liked them- I will have to look the other up to see if I've heard them.

I really like some older rock- like the New Riders of the Purple SAge (I like everything they EVER did) and the old old Rolling Stones.

Charlotte Church has an abnormally mature voice already for her age; the vibrato is exquisite. It will be fun to follow her, to see whether her voice will continue to change, or whether it has already reached some peak. I've just never heard a voice like hers. When I heard her Pie Jesu I cried.

I saw MIchael Flatley's Lord of the Dance this week in Las Vegas. It was wonderful. But I think my favorite thing was the Dancing LIghts at the Bellagio. I brought Ammo a pair of used drumsticks from the Blue Man Group-- I am now the greatest mom ever.

I love Andean music. The first time I ever heard it (that I can clearly recall) I was waiting for a date in the bar at Grand Central Station. From the other end of the main lobby, there echoed the most heavenly music--a small group of Peruvian musicians were playing there.

You were lucky because most of the time the groups are not very good. I sometimes cringe at the false notes I hear in Grand Central. OTOH, when they are good, it is heavenly.
