I find it relaxing to clean and oil the harness and saddle.

I've always enjoyed working with horse tack... the smell of leather when you clean it with saddle soap and then rub oil into... really nice. Also nice how the leather gets softer and more supple over time as you work with it. I always dislike new saddles and bridles because the "edges" of the leather are so stiff and sharp compared to how they are once a saddle is a couple of years old... Cleaning and oiling the leather speeds up that process a lot...
