You presented two reasons:

1) Gold likes any extremes ...

2) Actually, what is important is to know the link exists... why is not important IMO.


And then some charts.

This, to me, means that you have identified a chart pattern, have no idea whether or not it is a result of data mining and will never know either, as you are unwilling to create a contradicting hypothesis (why is not important) and test its falacy. I am trying to encourage you to think beyond charts and to analyze the underlying cause and effect relationship.

Thing is, in times of deflation, there is absolutely no rationale for gold to go up (see my post to Heinz with examples). Pigs cannot fly, so if you see a fflying pig, better check for hidden helium balloons and ultra thin wires.

Do you now se what I am trying to say?
