I have some core holding of SDLI and the rest shares are for trading. Right now, I have sold all my trading portion of this stock. Great company, great stock like a tennis ball that's guaranteed to bounce back whenever there is a market storm. But hey, no one goes broke by taking profit. I think there will be jittery before June's Fed meeting and I'll be back then.

There are variations and various ways of looking at any stock. Things do not have to be mutually exclusive. One can and should have long term positions in stocks like SDLI and JDSU. Just buy and hold and through the ups and downs you will come out ahead.

Clearly there is volatility, and since it is there why not profit from it as well. I use options for that purpose.
