Could be any of a number of reasons for the delay of your package (vacation coverage driver, confusing or double label, etc.). Or could be some problems in the center in your area. Service failures do happen but are not the norm. Although, that is no consolation when it is your package that is lost.
Try calling the service center and begin by stating that "I wish to file a complaint". If this doesn't get immediate satisfaction, demand to speak with a supervisor. When a problem persists, I've always had a good result when calling for a customer and stating the above.
