It seems likely that the 820E has dual channel RDRAM capability. If so, this should raise its performance level significantly and put an end the endless benchmark controversy.

An 820E could allow either a 1 channel or two channel RDRAM platform capability depending on the market segment.
The fact, that the 820E has up to 4 RIMMS seems to indicate this is a strong possibility.

This would also serve to further separate the new 815E from the 820E. The segmentation would be strong and the products would not interfere with each other.

INTEL must have thought about this!
