You are correct Malcolm that I did experiment and this time it worked out OK. Actually I have been in and out of the market 5 times in the past year and a half but only completely liquidated twice (recently and last September). Four times were fine but I did get caught once (last April) and paid too high a price for some stocks. Timing is difficult and time consuming. You are right that my time could be better spent studying companies and their technologies. There must be a gambling gremlin in me that sometimes pops out and I obviously must learn to get that part of my nature under control.

Unhappiness only appears in my life when those that I love are going through a difficult time. Sometimes I can help them and sometimes they have to sort it out for themselves. I have never tied my happiness to money.
