Credit to Bigcue on yahoo, who said he'd heard that TNB was talking with TYCO. I just sniffed around a little bit to find verification.

PS other areas worth sniffing into might be which laptop makers have new product designs on the hook that would best be served by a thin-format battery (thinking of Lev's comments on the conf call about the company president that called him, interested in releasing a PO for laptop cells). We've seen moderately thin-format designs from Toshiba and Sony, based on cylindrical cells at the hinge point (to maintain higher energy density) or else a minimum cell thickness of 1/2" for a lithium-ion cell in the drive bay. Apple has a 'Pismo' model that was delayed from last December to this coming January. Haven't heard yet about anything from Compaq or Dell.

PPS Worth considering the rollout of QCOM's HDR system, too. While checking the website today, noticed they've upgraded the webpages with more detail about HDR. They show laptops with single antenna mounts, and a 'Hornet' device to velcro to the laptop, with its own battery supply and diversity antennas. Don't think they're done designing products yet...
