Hello Poet! I just finished this book:amazon.com and it is the single best intro book I have ever seen for day/position traders who use Level 2 (RealTick). This guy is a very successful trader, and he has put just about everything one needs to know in this book. There are clear and concise explanations (with illustrations) of the Level 2 screens, the order executions systems (SOES, SelectNet, etc.), and ECNs (Electronic Communications Network). He describes in detail the best way to get executed in or out depending on the situation, and he is exactly right on everything. There are good sections on all the basic TA patterns and how to read them, and he even has some stuff on money management and risk management. I think it is important to remember that the more popular this book gets, the easier it will be for "the crowd" to see the patterns he describes, and the sections on the emotions of winning and losing should be taken with a grain of salt. Also, this guy is good enough so that I guarantee he has some trading strategies and chart patterns that he didn't put in his book, but all the patterns that most day traders have to learn the hard way are here. It's quite good. If you were on the wrong side of a trade and could not get out because the stock was moving too fast, he's got the trick for next time on page 109. Market maker tricks? He describes the most obvious ones on page 105. Nonsense on Internet chat rooms is page 133 <G>. He's even got a paragraph on selling half a winning position, which is something I had to invent on my own. <GGG> (And no, I am not being paid to pump the book. I wish I were, it's a good book.) Have a great week, Poet! See you folks on Level 2! Thanks, eom
