Re: "What do you think the future Celerons will be? Isn't Timna going to be marketed as Celeron, or will there be a different name? I don't see where current Coppermine Celeron can go from now on. I guess after 815 is released, and most Coppermines are on 133 MHz FSB, Intel will be able to increase the FSB of Celeron to 100 MHz, so that it has a chance to compete against Duron. Without it, I think Celeron's performance will be awful compared to Duron."

While I don't think Celeron II's performance will be much below Duron, I also don't see much future for Celeron (I or II). I think Duron will get most of it's cost reduction from the elimination of the off die L2 and cheaper packaging with the reduced pincount from the elimination of the BSB, plus the reduced test costs from the lower pincount and test speeds.

If Timna is marketed as a Celeron product line, you will have a very competitive product with the onboard memory controller, graphics processor and a memory to CPU/Graphics bandwidth that has not yet been fully discussed publicly. Current assumptions may not be completely accurate.
