JDN, good post and I agree with you, especially this: I think the technological advances happening now and about to happen are so perversive and basic they are akin to the early days of the Industrial Revolution.

That thought is well put in this part of an article from today's SJMN:

Hype about the New Economy aside, the U.S. economy is robust today largely because technology has given new life to old-line industries such as manufacturing, making them more efficient, highly profitable and, in the process, more competitive internationally.

In the broad economy, soaring productivity, lower inflation and strong growth have been the result.

So, how did the market do during the early days and years of the Industrial Revolution?

Unless the govts of the World do something to screw it up I look forward to ever increasing profits and potential the balance of my lifetime.
