Elmer Re..<<<As for Timna, keep in mind it is not intended to be the top end but rather the low end. The all-in-one design and greatly reduced pincount will be a great cost savings for boardmakers. For those who spend their time "Blasting Mutant Aliens" (tm EPhud '98) perhaps another choice might be in order for absolute top performance. <<<<<<<

Elmer, in other words its a dog only Emachines could love; and that would only be if Tinma can use dram; not expensive Rambus.

If Intel can pack all this into a single die and still make them cheaply, one has to wonder if we might be seeing more integration in the future?

With how long it is taking Intel to bring this so called wonder chip to market, it will be obsolete before it makes it first sale. And that could be its principle drawback, the increased complexity of the job takes longer than changing an individual part. Therefore Tinma will never keep up with the fast changing processor world and likely will be an even bigger dog as time goes by because Intel can't keep up with the changes.
