Value Line Chart Seems Atypical

This is not intended as a comment on the Value Line Coiled Spring prediction, but the Index shown seems fairly unusual.

The Chart of the Value Line Index on the provided link suggests an Index with higher values than those experienced in the first half of this year recorded recorded a year ago, and even higher values recorded 18 months ago.

I am unable to find any other Index where the value experienced in the first half of 2000 does not represent at or near all time highs.

In the last 5 years while the Index shown seems to have experienced 75% total growth $NYA is up 230%, $SPX is up 310%, and $COMPX is up 700%.

It is difficult to understand how he might project the conclusion shown on the chart onto another Index. It seems to suggest that in about 1 year we will get a higher high than that which was experienced one year ago.

$COMPX is now 57% higher than it was a year ago while $SPX is now 14% higher.
