I see a longer term problem for CDMA2000 outside the US.

This GSM/CDMA2000 dual band phone just isn' t going to happen anytime soon.

GSM is only 7% of the market share in the US. Hence
NO cellphone manufacturers have ever bothered to make
a dualband GSM/IS95 CDMA phone. In fact they have never
even made a TDMA/CDMA phone. The development of GSM/WCDMA
phones is the most likely step since WCDMA is already
being planned for in Europe which is 90+ % GSM.
There is also a GSM base already established to
some degree in China.

I think Qualcomm may have to rely on their royalties
for WCDMA in China unless they can apply some political pressure.

Which should give us an excellent opportunity to buy buy buy.

The game is over. CDMA is the 3G and China winner. In the next few quarters, qcom's earnings will make that clear to those who can't see further than the end of their noses.
