To be really honest... I think the purchase of ARPT by CSCO makes the case for FFIV to be one of the long term winners in the market even weaker.

Mind you it could very well be headed higher here with the rest of the market, but as an industry professional, there are several solutions out there that FFIV cannot compete with as IP services become more pervasive.

albeit, layer4 switching has never taken off, EXTR and FDRY do well.

One to look at would probably be RDWR. Couldn't really figure out the attraction to ATON's product line either.

AKAM gets a lot of press and cnn.com went with them, but again... it'll be interesting to see how they wind up long term.

Clearly the premium paid on ARPT is very key in validating the overall concept/technological services these guys are providing...
