Besides updating the resource section there are not many changes to this week's FAQ. However, I do remember pictures from the Las Vegas trip being posted. If someone can direct me to the message numbers I'll try to work them into the next edition.

Thanks for the welcome. Although generic, it beats the usually hostility that the word "gold" brings.

The basic concept of G&K investing reminds me of a narrow application of the ideas of Thomas Kuhn. Some of his works are the the core writing in the philosophy of science, and I recommend it to anyone who might seek a fresh perspective on g&k investing.

The small technological shifts that enable new gorilla's to emerge, however, will be overshadowed by a more fundamental shift in investment philosophy. One that doesn't affect a companies status as a gorilla, but breaks the relationship between that and the value of the equity which reflects it.

Since that type of gorilla - a new life form, really - is clearly not the purpose of this thread, I'll finish my posting here.

But tell Thomas to pick himself up some gold, ok?
