When I speak of shorters being "wiped out", I mean that their discretionary investment dedicated to shorting was mostly or totally erased.
I do not mean that they were borrowing funds against their real estate equity and credit cards and needed to file chapter 11.

Most people that short stocks regularly are fairly experienced and relatively conservative. They do their own DD and do not rely upon hype and hearsay.

They realize the inherent risk in stock market investing and thus do not wager more than they can comfortably lose.
Not that anyone wants or expects to lose. :))

Aufwiedersehen,
Das

talk to a retail broker...alot of people lost alot of money in the past couple of months. it's not just the online traders.

the people that took home equity loans and/or cash advances on their credit cards to put into the market are very foolish and i hope they got out in time.

reality isn't always pretty or fun i guess.
