Friday's money flows where negative across the board. If I didn't know where the price is going and looked only at the money
flows, I would guess that we are in a major selloff.'

Where do you get the statistics on money flow?

Tim

A interesting series of exchanges.

Here is something else. This economy is driven mainly by US consumer. And most of this spending is done on credit cards. Per latest data the average consumer carries a debt of approximately $7,000 on credit cards. I think that these credit cards are getting pretty maxed out by now. Don't forget the booming home and auto sales during the past few years. In other words, loans, loans, loans. Consumer has to pay for it at some point.

It appears the American consumer may be somewhat stretched,

Valuations

Some are high, some are low. Who is to say what's high or low?

I find it hard to justify Cisco growing at 50% a year, with a PE of 150, but a PE of 100, maybe.

I find it harder to justify Coke growing at 10% a year, with a PE of 40, but 20, sure.

I work at Conexant, CNXT. Semiconductor company, I found it hard to justify when the stock went to 130+ in Feb. Other than to say BRCM (competitor) was way up there in the 250-300 area. or PMCS or RFMD, ec. Now 2 weeks ago, it was at 31. We will have earnings of est .80 by 9/00 and expected to grow 30-50% over the next 5 years.
Also, 30 level was tested last October at the low.
This was a gifthorse, IMO. When stocks go to levels that are simply too low, they go up.

What happens next? Well, there are many stocks that have come down low, some justified others not. The new rally will carry some tried and true and some new companies, and leave others behind. This is not true of a bear market or bull market but just the stock market, IMO.

My view of semis is this cycle will last longer than many expect. It is not near peaking yet. That's my view, you don't have to agree.
