It's also interesting to see you elected to attack Dan Quayle personally. I apologize for that. Dan Quayle is one of those people who make my teeth hurt. The minute I see him on TV I hit the mute button lest I throw something at the TV. Al Sharpton and Ollie North are in the same elite club....without engaging in the point upon which I used his name as an example. I considered engaging you on the point, but was running out of steam. As I have said before on this thread, I do not think people should have kids they can't properly care for. I guess that's similar to DQ, whose target was single mothers as epitomized by Murphy Brown. The idea that raising kids in a single-parent home is less than optimal was not original to DQ. Pat Moynihan had been talking about it for years. Now, Murphy Brown, albeit single, was in an excellent position to give her child the best of care. She was engaged, doting, a good role model, well-to-do, and had an extended support system to help her and love her son. DQ seems to think that a two-parent family is what is required, no more and no less. That's a bit narrow-minded for my taste. Having two parents doesn't guarantee anything, although, all things being equal, it's better than having only one. Caring for a child also requires maturity, good character, money, people skills, patience, etc. etc. I think it's irresponsible to bring children into the world without an ample supply of all of them. The implication is that people who are ill equipped, married or not, either abstain, use birth control, or get abortions. Somehow, I think DQ and I part company there.Ann Coulter or Pat Buchannen aren't stupid because they disagree with you and Hillary "Just for the record," I didn't say Pat Buchannen was stupid. Nor have I ever in my life, to the best of my recollection, agreed with Hillary Clinton on anything. Karen
