Justin, why do you say it sounds competitive. A light version of the OS and a browser based sys admin do little or nothing for performance and reliability. It may make it easy to install and do remote admin, but that's it.

Remember that NTAP has a specially designed OS and file system (WAFL) and RAID 4. These innovations have resulted in NTAP stomping Sun in third party benchmark results. StorEdge offers no apparent innovations to change that fact.

Now, let's talk about SNAPSHOT and clustered failover.

The Sun server market is probably NTAP's main market, so Sun is certainly sewing seeds of FUD there. Loyal Sun customers will use StorEdge to keep NTAP out when the politics are right for them. However, a growing market for NTAP is the Windows NT market. Putting a Sun server in an NT shop as a NAS ain't gonna happen.
