He probably deserved the call, but there were several other times (notably when he fell running alongside Kobe) that Steve was the one acting/flopping.

But that one call wouldn't have reversed the dismal 4th qtr the Blazers had. I thot it was all over going into the 4th for the Lakers.

That non-call reminded me vividly of Game 2 of Phoenix/L.A., when Penny drove into the lane, got knocked to the floor by Shaq, and the refs made no call. That series would probably gone 7 games had the Suns gotten that call and won that game. Also, the calls on Sabonis all series long have been quite shaky. Bill Walton put it best when he asked if players are simply supposed to get out of the way when Shaq plows through them. I think Bill Walton had his best game ever as an announcer. In fact, that's the first game I can ever remember him not making multiple silly comments.
