Japan stocks
The June Nikkei futures <0#JNI:> rose 380 points to 17,200.

The broader and capital-weighted TOPIX (^TOPX - news) index of all first section shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) rose 2.10 percent to 1,589.08.

Reflecting strong gains in U.S. technology stocks on Friday, early gainers included computer giants Toshiba Corp , up 4.34 percent to 1,106 yen, and Fujitsu Ltd , gaining 3.48 percent to 3,270 yen.

Canon Inc , manufacturer of cameras, printers, copiers and other precision machinery, was 2.56 percent higher at 5,210 yen.

Info-tech leader NTT DoCoMo Inc rose to 3.05 million yen with few sellers, against Friday's 2.88 million yen.

``The U.S. markets seem to have gained stability, and that is a cue for many investors here to buy,'' said Tsuyoshi Segawa, general manager at Sakura Securities' equity derivatives division.
