That article requires a subscription so I couldn't access. As for physics - they can be overcome through the injection of outside media or mediums which can excite electrons to irregular states. This is a tool used in laser technology - not that this applies directly however it does demonstrate that man can create unusual - perhaps unthinkable things in our world that were once thought impossible. How about voices traveling down a copper wire???? Or through the air to a satellite and back down to earth. What about moving pictures or TV's? OG
