tb,

<<you've been around real-time for more than 75% of the posts now...>>

Awwww, com' on, you're not blaming me for the thread bloat, are you?

<<You were then in the process of catching up on the massive thread backlist, and I remember encouraging you in the effort even though it seemed absurd and even impossible.>>

Now this is interesting. The link you referenced as my first post was from 9/8/99. Your first post on this thread was Message 11278438 , I believe, which is dated 9/17/99.

Now I know this isn't a senior moment for you, so this must be an example of a violation of causality implied by Wang's experiment at Princeton: sunday-times.co.uk

"The research is already causing controversy among physicists. What bothers them is that if light could travel forward in time it could carry information. This would breach one of the basic principles in physics - causality, which says that a cause must come before an effect. It would also shatter Einstein's theory of relativity since it depends in part on the speed of light being unbreachable."

Not that I'm trying to claim any seniority, since my second post on this thread wasn't until 11/17/99, by which time you had 847 posts (note to newcomers: tb wasn't concerned about thread bloat then). Maybe I exaggerate.

You were very helpful with advice via PM after I made my second, third, and hundredth post in rapid succession. " Leave 'em wanting more" was the gist of the advice. I've cut back significantly after my initial barrage.

My Time in Grade is only 271 days, or 57% of the life of the thread, but 76% of the posts have come after my first, as you point out. Hmmm, given the number of posters and lurkers here, how many people years are expended on reading G&K? Will Greenspan take this into account?

My last line of my first post was <<You have a great thread here.>> I'll stick with that evaluation.

Greg

P.S. For those of us who enjoy Merlin's sense of humor, check out his "blind date" story from 8/99 if you did not read it before. Message 11099925 You won't mind another go-around, will you Merlin?
