Give Dresden a little more time to get to 1000wpw and then AMD may release 1100Mhz Athlon IMO.

We were at 600wpw a few weeks ago.

What's wrong with that strategy?

Q5:At what clock speeds will the new AMD Athlon processor with performance enhancing cache memory be offered? What kind of clock speeds can we expect to see for the remainder of 2000?

A5:The new AMD Athlon processor will be offered at the following clock speeds: 1,000, 950, 900, 850, 800 and 750MHz. AMD is dedicated to providing users with the ultimate computing experience. AMD plans to continue to increase the frequency (MHz) and performance of the AMD Athlon processor to deliver on this goal, and expects to stay competitive in the marketplace for the foreseeable future. AMD will announce future speed upgrades when it is appropriate.

It is too soon to speculate on binsplit at Dresden. 1GHz isn't VERY deceiving. TBird performance is a lot more... I hope the average investors don't look that much at benchmarks.

We WILL (unsuccessfully) test 100 tomorrow.
