I like the idea of a dual-processor system since one could buy with only a single MPU (higher-speed) and when desired add the second (at a likely lower cost than the first) for a simple upgrade. One would only add a processor and not have to find a new home for the old one. I have tried to take this approach with RAM upgrades since I don't always want to find a new home for the obsolete RAM and also don't like just throwing things away.
